Tom has practiced in Collingwood since his call to the Bar in 1982. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and was the winner of the Practitioner’s Prize in Real Estate at the Bar Admission Course. Tom has developed an extensive real estate, corporate, commercial and estates practice, serving a large and varied client base.

As counsel for developers in the registration of numerous subdivisions and condominium projects, Tom has acquired considerable knowledge of condominium development and administration. He routinely provides legal advice and guidance for a significant number of the condominium corporations within Collingwood and surrounding areas.

Tom holds memberships in the Canadian Condominium Institute, and the Ontario Bar Association. He has served on the Real Property Executive of the Ontario Bar Association and currently sits as a member of the Law Society’s Real Estate Working Group. He has been a program chair and presenter at a number of continuing legal education programs offered by the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Bar Association. Tom has also completed both the preliminary and the advanced Alternate Dispute Resolution courses presented by Stitt, Feld & Handy in association with the University of Windsor.

Since his return to Collingwood to practice law in 1982, Tom has been an active member of the community. He is a former Chairman of the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Board as well as the Simcoe County Hospital Council. He has been a member of the G&M Hospital Foundation and has served in a leadership role in each of the three (3) major capital campaigns, of the Hospital since 1986 (totaling some $11,000,000.00). Both he and his wife Laurie are recipients of the Hospital’s Meritorious Award for service. Tom has been a member of the Collingwood Rotary Club since 1985 and served as President of the club in 1994/95. He was one of the founding directors of Theatre Collingwood, the legal Chair of the World Masters Weightlifting Championships, Secretary of the Collingwood Toastmasters Club and a director of the Collingwood Enterprise Center. Since 2003 he has served as an appointed public member on the Council of the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

Tom is married with 2 sons and is an avid downhill skier, tennis player and golfer.
