Michael enjoys a litigation, municipal, and general practice that includes attendance before many different courts and administrative tribunals. Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario in 1989. He subsequently obtained his law degree from the University of Toronto in 1993. Upon graduation, Michael completed his articles with an eminent litigation law firm in London. He moved to Collingwood in 1998 where he joined Tom Baulke and Vidas Augaitis as an associate lawyer. Michael became a partner in the firm in 2004.

In addition to representing clients before criminal, family and civil courts, Michael has wide-ranging experience in matters of Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial, Estate Planning and Employment Law. He devotes a significant amount of his time to continuing legal education in order to maintain a thorough knowledge of the law in all these areas of practice.

Michael also serves our community of Collingwood and surrounding area. He is currently a director serving on various non-profit boards, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Georgian Triangle, where he has the honour of serving as Past-President. Michael has served for over five years on the board of directors for The Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation. Michael is a former National Director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada. He was an initial director and a founding member of the Rotary Club of Collingwood -- South Georgian Bay, and continues to be actively involved as a Rotarian. He is a founding director of the Collingwood Sailing School.

Michael is also a member of the Collingwood Curling Club and currently serves as Treasurer of the Collingwood Yacht Club.
